Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Richmond, VA is seeking a Building Structural Intern to join our Structural/Marine Group. You will gain hands-on exposure to a variety of projects, from buildings to waterfront facilities, with a culture that emphasizes mentoring and staff development.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering bachelor or master program, preferably with structural concentration.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with structural design/analysis software (RISA, STAAD) a plus.
• Experience with drafting/modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD) a plus.

We are seeking a Building Structural Intern to join our Structural/Marine Group in our Richmond, VA office.

Interns will join our collaborative team of engineers and architects on a variety of challenging projects, including buildings, industrial facilities, water/wastewater plants, and waterfront facilities. WRA has a strong mentoring culture and a focus on staff development.

Interns will receive training in structural analysis and design for a variety of building types and materials. Interns will also be trained in developing concept designs and creating construction documents for clients across a broad range of markets.

Requirements:

• Must be currently enrollment in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering bachelor or master program preferably with Structural Concentration.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD, etc.) a plus.
• Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD) a plus.

The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $21.50 - $24.50. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
