POSITION SUMMARY
Oversee all aspects of the daily operations of facility maintenance and management, ensuring that buildings, systems, and grounds meet all safety, quality, and operational standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead strategic planning and direct the maintenance of the physical infrastructure of a senior living community.
- Manage the facility’s maintenance department, promoting efficient operation of building systems and grounds.
- Spearhead facility upgrades, renovations, and repair projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with other members of leadership to develop long-term maintenance strategies and preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facility assets.
- Direct and assist in supporting maintenance managers and specialists, providing guidance and leadership to enhance team effectiveness and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, legal regulations, environmental policies, and building codes. May oversee Safety Committee.
- Prepare and oversee the maintenance budget, including final approval of expenditures and optimizing resource allocation.
- Coordinate responses to emergency maintenance situations, ensuring swift resolution and minimal impact on operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintain work, inspections, and compliance activities to support facility management and regulatory requirements.
Supervisory Responsibility: Yes.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree infacilities management, engineering, business administration, or related field is strongly preferred.
- Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), or similar credentials are highly desirable.
- At least 7-10 years’ experience in maintenance management, preferably in healthcare or residential facilities due to their unique environments and regulatory requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
- Proficient in budget and project management.
- In-depth knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical).
- Familiarity with safety, building codes, and health regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with all community stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
