Job summary

Insight Living in Santa Clarita, CA is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Director to oversee daily operations of the senior living community's buildings, systems and grounds, ensuring safety, quality and reliability.

You will lead the maintenance department, manage budgets, coordinate upgrades and preventive plans, and ensure compliance with health, safety and building codes, while guiding a team to excellence.

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, business administration, or related field is strongly preferred.
• Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) are highly desirable.
• At least 7-10 years’ experience in maintenance management, preferably in healthcare or residential facilities due to their unique environments and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and direct the maintenance of the physical infrastructure of a senior living community.
• Manage the facility’s maintenance department, promoting efficient operation of building systems and grounds.
• Spearhead facility upgrades, renovations, and repair projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with other members of leadership to develop long-term maintenance strategies and preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facility assets.
• Direct and assist in supporting maintenance managers and specialists, providing guidance and leadership to enhance team effectiveness and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, legal regulations, environmental policies, and building codes. May oversee Safety Committee.
• Prepare and oversee the maintenance budget, including final approval of expenditures and optimizing resource allocation.
• Coordinate responses to emergency maintenance situations, ensuring swift resolution and minimal impact on operations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintain work, inspections, and compliance activities to support facility management and regulatory requirements.
