Heart to Heart Hospice is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Director in Fort Worth, TX. You will plan, direct, and optimize maintenance programs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, grounds, and security to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of healthcare facilities.

You will oversee service contracts, energy management, and vendor relations, with a focus on cost-effective, high-standard upkeep and regulatory adherence in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate; Trade School or some college helpful.
  • Three years of facility maintenance experience.
  • Ability to identify maintenance problems, plan and follow through to their solution in a timely manner.
  • In depth understanding of physical plant maintenance requirements.
  • Prior long-term care experience preferred.
  • Experience in estimating maintenance and repair costs.
  • Possess good organization, people and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task many projects and strategies simultaneously; strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with oral and written instructions in English.
  • Familiar with standards for state, federal and private facilities as well as standards applicable to the healthcare facilities.
  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of procurement and contracts.
  • Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Experience in construction, maintenance and all facets of facility operation.
  • Basic computer and systems knowledge.
  • Must be highly motivated, self-directed, flexible, and able to work well with others.
  • Must have reliable transportation and provide ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate maintenance program and services, grounds maintenance and upkeep.
  • Direct or perform duties concerned with plumbing, painting, carpentry, mechanical, heating, cooling, water systems and minor electrical.
  • Monitor and supervise all service contracts or other outside contract work.
  • Directs or performs duties concerned with maintenance of grounds, parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, security etc.
  • Understand and adhere to the facility maintenance program.
  • Conduct and document regular facilities inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes.
  • Maintain certifications.
  • Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency.
  • Coordinate intra-office moves.
  • Supervise maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
  • Oversee facility refurbishment and renovations.
  • Plan and manage facility central services such as reception, security, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and parking.
  • Calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers.
  • Manage contractor and vendor relationships.
  • Manage and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met.
  • Check completed work by contractors and vendors.
  • Verify payment and invoicing match contract pricing.
  • Monitor expenses and payments.
  • Advise on and monitor energy efficiency.
  • Oversee environmental health and safety.
  • Assure security of the facility.
  • Respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures.
  • Timely submission of all documentation.
