Job summary

VSI of New York, Inc. seeks an on-site porter to keep lobbies and common areas clean and safe across NYC properties. You will support light maintenance, tenant requests, and vendor access to ensure smooth daily operations.

Ideal candidates are reliable, physically capable, and able to lift up to 50 lbs with basic English for logging and interactions with tenants and staff. VSI provides training, equipment, and supervision.

Qualifications

• Prior building maintenance or porter experience preferred (1+ year ideal; training provided).
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb stairs.
• Reliable and punctual; dependability for on-site presence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and all common areas to VSI standards.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain sidewalks and building frontage; snow/ice removal as needed.
• Manage trash and recycling per NYC schedule; restock restrooms.
• Assist tenants and handle package deliveries; provide building access for vendors.
