Job summary

The City of Boynton Beach in Florida is seeking an Inspector/Plans Examiner to inspect new and existing buildings during construction, review permits and plans for code compliance, and enforce applicable codes. Depending on experience, candidates may be hired at I, II, or III levels with corresponding hourly ranges.

Responsibilities include field inspections, plan review, and coordinating with contractors and city departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Florida Standard Inspector and Plans Examiner License or PE/Architect license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of buildings for code compliance.
• Review permit applications, site plans and construction documents for conformance with codes.
• Enforce codes and issue notices when violations are found.
• Coordinate inspection activities with other departments and stakeholders.
• Maintain records of inspection activities and violations.

Education
