Job summary

City of Plantation is seeking a Part Time Structural Inspector II to perform structural plan reviews and inspections for Florida Building Code compliance. The role includes reviewing permits, coordinating with the Building Official, and providing onsite customer service as required.

Applicants must have a high school diploma, substantial inspection experience, and hold BCIAB certifications as Structural Plans Examiner and Structural Inspector; a valid Florida driver’s license is preferred for

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent certificate.
• Considerable responsible experience in inspection of plans, construction installations, and alterations.
• To be eligible, certified by BCIAB as Structural Plans Examiner and Structural Inspector.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural plan reviews and related administrative duties.
• Coordinate plan review activities and issue inspection reports.
• Conduct onsite inspections and enforce building standards.
• Prepare reports and maintain records; consult with applicants and the public.
