Job summary

The City of El Paso is seeking inspectors to conduct building, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical site inspections and to review plans for compliance with national, state, and local codes. You will issue permits, interpret code requirements, and provide technical assistance to the construction industry and the public.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with at least three years of journey-level trades or related inspection/design experience, Texas Class C license, and ICC

Responsibilities

• Inspect on-site building, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical work for compliance with national, state, and local codes.
• Review residential, commercial plans for conformance with building codes and regulations.
• Issue permits, provide technical guidance to the public and industry, and enforce code standards.
