Job summary

El Paso County 911 District is seeking a qualified electrician inspector to perform on-site inspections of new and remodeled construction projects, ensuring compliance with municipal, state, and national electrical codes.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years journey-level or supervisory electrician experience, and current Journey or Master Electrician license, plus timely certification as ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector. A Texas Class C driver's license is also required.

Qualifications

License: Journey or Master Electrician required at application time.
ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector certification within one year of appointment.
Texas Class C Driver's License or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Conduct field inspections of construction projects to enforce electrical codes.
Review plans, specifications, materials, layouts, and equipment for compliance.
Explain and interpret electrical code requirements to contractors, architects, engineers and the public.
Issue and post stop orders, corrective actions or citations as required; testify when needed.
Investigate complaints regarding illegal construction, safety or hazards; maintain records.
