Job summary

Hall County Government in Gainesville, GA is seeking a Building Plans and Inspections Manager to provide administrative and technical direction to the department. You will review construction plans for compliance with electrical, plumbing, mechanical and building codes to ensure safe, code-abiding developments.

Role requires coordinating plan reviews with multiple agencies, guiding staff, and performing complex commercial inspections when certified.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in engineering or related field.
Five years of experience in building inspection and plans review.
Equivalent education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

Provides technical directions to department staff.
Consults with public, contractors, engineers, architects and developers to interpret plans and regulations.
Reviews plans to ensure compliance with adopted codes.
Coordinates plan review requirements with other departments.
Assists staff with questions on plans and permits for consistent code applications.
Maintains knowledge of current codes and regulations and proposes changes as needed.
Conducts commercial building inspections for complex projects with appropriate certifications.
Performs other related duties as required.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
