Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months’ experience as a Licensed Tradesman or Inspector in construction.
• Ability to read blueprints, maps, and technical drawings.
• Equivalents accepted; possession of ICC Residential Building Code Certification within 6 months.
• Residential Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical inspector certifications within one year.

Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned residential and commercial projects from permit to completion.
• Enforce codes and ordinances; respond to citizen complaints.
• Communicate code violations and options to builders, contractors, engineers, architects, or homeowners.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, stop work orders, and status reports.
