Job summary

NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) Division of Energy Management seeks an Associate Engineer to advance building optimization initiatives across the City portfolio. The role offers technical leadership in controls, energy systems, and analytics while coordinating with agencies and contractors to deliver improvements.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or mechatronics plus one year of full-time experience.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology with three years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics.

Responsibilities

• Project management: support portfolio of technical building controls projects, including scoping, budgets, and inspections.
• Technical oversight: review controls drawings, project scope, costs, energy savings calculations, and provide advanced support.
• Performance management: monitor and report project metrics and greenhouse gas reductions.
• Stakeholder engagement: coordinate with City agencies and contractors to drive project success.
• Program expansion: assist in expanding a city-wide building optimization program using preventive maintenance and analytics.
