Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering team in maintaining high tenant satisfaction, safety, and building efficiency. The role oversees all building systems, budgets, and staffing, collaborating with tenants, vendors, and managers to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications include a HS diploma, 10+ years in the field, 5+ years of supervisory experience, and strong knowledge of HVAC, BAS, and life-safety systems.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least ten years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least five years of supervisory, training, and mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain as requested; engineering/trade licenses required per local/state/national requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, energy management software systems, CMMS, and other building operation platforms.
• Must be able to travel daily to assigned properties.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, and life safety systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, capital budgeting, and energy management skills.
• Strong contract administration and project management skills.
• Familiar with blueprints and code requirements.
• Ability to respond to building emergencies after hours as needed.
• Competent use and care of tools.
• Ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Monitor building energy usage and ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee contractor work and manage tenant improvement projects.
• Prepare budgets; control inventory and purchasing.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate Engineering staff; develop performance goals and staff development plans.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable building operations and address tenant issues.
• Coordinate with vendors to define scopes of work and ensure contract compliance.
• Conduct inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently; maintain service logs and compliance records.
• Enforce safety protocols and OSHA, NEC, NFPA standards; manage lockout/tagout and safety training.
• Communicate with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants, and client employees professionally.
