Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of building systems, ensuring safe, efficient performance while supervising engineering staff and contractors.

The role involves monitoring HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment; coordinating preventive maintenance; and collaborating with tenants, vendors, and property managers to maintain reliable operations. A CIO-like focus on safety, BAS, and compliance is required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Five to seven years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least one year of supervisory, training, or mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain as requested; licenses required per local/state/national rules.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS, and building operation platforms.
• Familiar with fire/life safety equipment and procedures.
• Ability to read/write English and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of BAS, HVAC, and electrical controls; troubleshooting expertise.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment operation.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Oversee service contractors ensuring compliance with standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers/technicians; set performance goals.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable operations.
• Identify scopes of work with vendors and oversee contract terms & QC.
• Conduct regular building inspections and address deficiencies.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure execution.
• Record readings; ensure building systems operate per standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols; ensure OSHA/NEC/NFPA compliance; maintain logs.
• Communicate with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
