Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Flushing, NY. This on-site role requires hands-on maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, HVAC upkeep, and safety compliance.

You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and on-demand repairs while documenting work in CMMS and coordinating with management. Strong tools knowledge and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Submit daily receipts and update work orders in CMMS; conduct vehicle safety inspections.
• Attend safety meetings and respond to emergency maintenance requests.

Maintenance Mechanic – JLL

What this job involves:

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in keeping our facilities operating smoothly and safely while delivering exceptional service to our clients. This hands-on position combines technical expertise with preventive maintenance to ensure optimal building conditions and uninterrupted operations. As part of JLL's facility management team, you'll be the frontline problem-solver who maintains the systems and environments that allow our clients to focus on their core business. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, apply diverse technical skills daily, and make a visible impact on facility operations and client satisfaction.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Conduct facility inspections and report on conditions that could impact client operations, escalating issues promptly to customers and management
• Handle interior maintenance tasks including hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture, and moving office furniture and equipment as needed
• Maintain HVAC systems by cleaning coils, changing filters and belts, and performing routine system checks
• Replace lighting fixtures and ballasts to ensure proper illumination throughout facilities
• Complete hazard assessments, maintain clean and safe work areas, and stay current with all required safety training and protocols
• Submit daily P-card receipts, update work order status in real-time using CMMS systems like 360 Facility, and perform vehicle safety inspections
• Attend required work and safety meetings, and respond flexibly to emergency maintenance requests

Required Qualifications:

• Valid state driver's license with clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance tasks
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Demonstrated ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
• Strong communication skills for reporting and escalation purposes
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance or building operations
• Experience with CMMS systems, particularly 360 Facility or similar platforms
• Technical certification or trade school training in relevant disciplines (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
• Knowledge of HVAC systems maintenance and repair
• Experience working in commercial office environments
• Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations
• Previous experience with preventive maintenance programs

Location: Flushing, NY

Expected compensation for this position: 86,985.00 – 86,985.00 USD per year

Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
