Job summary

  • Provide guidance and technical support to the Engineering Services team as SME in maintenance repairs.
  • Manage work orders and building information systems; coordinate with Operations Manager/Chief Engineer on priorities and estimates.
  • Plan and schedule engineering work aligning with priorities; coordinate purchasing and inventory control.

Lead Maintenance Mechanic – JLL
What this job involves:

As a Lead Maintenance Mechanic at JLL, you'll play a critical role in supporting our engineering operations by assisting the Operations Manager/Chief Engineer in directing comprehensive engineering services and maintenance operations across assigned buildings. This position combines hands‑on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring optimal building performance while supporting field operations, tracking performance metrics, and implementing strategic material acquisition strategies. You'll serve as a key technical resource for your team while contributing directly to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services that enhance our clients' operational success.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Provide guidance and technical support to the Engineering Services team, serving as the subject matter expert in general maintenance repairs and services
  • Manage work orders and maintain critical building information systems, coordinating with Operations Manager/Chief Engineer on priorities, completion dates, and estimates
  • Plan and schedule engineering work according to established priorities while coordinating purchasing and inventory control procedures
  • Conduct weekly on-site Quality Assurance inspections of maintained facilities and respond effectively to emergency situations
  • Maintain staffing schedules, timekeeping, and employment records for engineering teams in connection with planning and executing maintenance work
  • Support preparation of monthly and quarterly operations reports while making recommendations for systems improvements and capital projects
  • Maintain liaison with management regarding building criticality, work order status, and operational priorities
Required Qualifications:
  • High School degree or equivalent GED
  • 4 years of technical and supervisory experience in building engineering with strong background in repair and building maintenance
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer-based applications including Excel and Word
  • Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Physical ability to lift minimum 80 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft, and perform overhead work while maintaining balance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 years of technical and supervisory experience in building engineering with strong background in repair and building maintenance
  • Previous experience in commercial real estate or facility management environments
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Professional certifications in building systems, HVAC, or electrical systems

Expected compensation for this position:

67,800.00 – 75,566.00 USD per year Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
