Job summary

SAFEbuilt seeks a Building Official to join our team, handling code compliance, plan reviews for commercial and residential projects, and inspections with a focus on client service. This role requires ICC certifications and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local building codes, policies and procedures.
• Client and team management experience in a building department setting.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Initiative and independent judgment.
• Self-directed and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Meet all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements.
• Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to daily building department functions.
• Serve as the primary liaison with clients, ensuring high levels of customer service.
• Attend department and community meetings as required by the client.
• Perform plan reviews for commercial and residential structures.
• Provide inspection support as needed.
