Job summary

Kiewit is seeking Building Mechanical Engineers to design and manage HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems for diverse industrial facilities. You will contribute to fast-paced EPC projects and collaborate with in-house engineers and contractors to deliver design work and construction documents.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of experience in building design, with a preference for those in mid-to-senior roles, and may require licensure for senior positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering.
• 7+ years of Building design experience; 15+ years for certain locations/remote.
• PE license is a plus; licensure required for senior roles.
• Experience with HVAC systems including chilled water, dehumidification, hydronic heating, steam, and gas piping.
• Proficient in HVAC load modeling and duct sizing.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout mechanical systems for diverse buildings, including HVAC and plumbing; produce load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Prepare construction documents, drawings, specifications for HVAC, piping, plumbing.
• Review 3D models, support procurement, develop bid packages.
• Lead site visits, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with project teams.
• Respond to RFIs and assist with turnover.
