Job summary

KIEWIT Architectural & Engineering in the United States is seeking several Building Mechanical Engineers to design HVAC, piping, ventilation and plumbing systems for a broad portfolio of industrial facilities. You will deliver load calculations, construction documents, and collaborate with in-house engineers and contractors on fast-paced EPC projects across multiple market sectors.

These roles require 7+ years of building design experience (15+ years for select locations), a PE is a plus, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering.
• 7+ years of Building design experience; 15+ years for certain locations.
• PE license is a plus; licensure preferred for senior roles.
• Experience with HVAC including chilled water, dehumidification, hydronics, steam, and gas piping.
• Proficient in load modeling, psychrometric analysis, duct sizing and piping.
• Experience with building modeling software such as Trane Trace 700 or Carrier HAP.
• Strong ability to lead teams and manage budgets/schedules.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout mechanical systems for various building types, including HVAC and piping.
• Deliver load calculations, equipment sizing, specs, floor plans, and details.
• Support procurement, bid packages, vendor reviews, and shop drawing reviews.
• Develop cost-effective designs meeting reliability and safety standards.
• Create construction documents and specifications for HVAC, piping and plumbing.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines in a collaborative team.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead support engineers on design work.
• Conduct site visits, develop punch lists, and assist with turnover.
