Job summary

Builders FirstSource, a leading building materials supplier, seeks an Outside Sales professional to support the sales team. You will identify prospective customers, travel within the territory to solicit orders, demonstrate products, and prepare contracts and delivery estimates.

The role emphasizes customer service, problem solving, and teamwork, with opportunities to attend trade shows and advance within a growing national distributor.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related selling experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior building materials industry experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
• Regularly travels throughout assigned territory with outside Sales Representative to call on customers.
• Displays or demonstrates product using samples or catalog and emphasizes salable features.
• Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimates date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
• Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
• Tracks stock levels.
• Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
• Attends trade shows.
