Job summary

The Salvation Army Lakeland Corps is seeking a maintenance worker to perform repairs on buildings, equipment, and vehicles, and to handle groundskeeping duties to keep the campus presentable.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance on Salvation Army vehicles and driving to collect materials, supplies, and donations. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required, with a level 2 background screening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years’ experience performing maintenance work in a general maintenance environment or equivalent.
• Level 2 background screening is required.
• Valid state driver’s license is required.

Job Details: Job Location: FLA-Lakeland Corps - Lakeland, FL 33802, Salary Range: $15.33 - $17.00 Hourly, Job Category: Property, Schedule/Hours: 40 Hours Week

This position is responsible for:

• Performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles; performs routine grounds keeping work to ensure the beautification of the landscape; performs minor plumbing and carpentry repair work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs preventative maintenance of Salvation Army vehicles.
• Performs routine maintenance activities.
• Drives Salvation Army vehicle to pick up materials, supplies, donations, mail and the like.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting of supplies, materials, etc. weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
• Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, heat, or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU::

High school diploma or G.E.D.AND two years’ experience performing maintenance work in a general maintenance environment OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Valid state driver's license.
