Job summary

Nebraska Furniture Mart Inc. is hiring a Building Maintenance Technician III in Omaha to maintain HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical equipment, and other specialized machinery. You will troubleshoot controls, perform preventive maintenance, and document work orders to support the company’s large facility.

The role requires the ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours as business needs dictate, with a focus on reliability and quality repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Relevant coursework in HVAC, ventilation, mechanical repair, or carpentry preferred.
• 2 years HVAC/ventilation, concrete repair, light electrical work and plumbing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical equipment, and other specialized equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls on heating, ventilation and AC equipment.
• Complete regular preventative maintenance on equipment and shop tools.
• Read electrical diagrams/schematics and operate basic shop equipment.
• Enter work orders, maintain maintenance notes, and keep records of performed maintenance.
• Perform building repairs to sustain the world-class facility.

Job Duties: A Day in the Life

• Be The Expert: Maintain working knowledge of refrigeration principles and tools to operate and repair AC equipment
• Solve: Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls on heating, ventilation and AC equipment
• Preform: Complete regular preventative maintenance on snow removal equipment and other specialty machines
• Be Precise: Maintain working knowledge of reading electrical diagrams/schematics and experience with general shop equipment
• Collaborate: Effectively complete work orders, enter in job notes, and maintain records of maintenance preformed
• Support: Preform all types of building repairs to maintain our world class facility

• Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs
• Ability to lift, push, pull required weights per established requirements for the department
