Job summary

The Village of Buffalo Grove is seeking an experienced Public Works Crew Leader to head the Building Maintenance Section. The role covers skilled maintenance of municipal buildings, systems, and street lighting while guiding a crew and coordinating tasks under the Building Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities include carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC work, using Cartegraph to document activities, and ensuring safe, efficient completion of projects with quality results.

Qualifications

• Completion of HVAC/R trade school, apprenticeship, certificate program, or other relevant skilled-trades training is preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Certification preferred.
• Additional trade certifications (HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, BAS) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and general building maintenance work.
• Serve as Crew Leader and provide day-to-day leadership and direction to other employees.
• Coordinate work, prioritize maintenance, and ensure safety and quality standards.
