Job summary

Village of Park Forest seeks a Building Maintenance Coordinator to manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing and ventilation systems across village facilities. The role may supervise seasonal staff and reports to the Superintendent of Facilities.

Required are a high school diploma or GED with trade training and substantial building maintenance experience, plus knowledge of trades and a valid Illinois driver’s license. EPA refrigerant certification or licensed trades are preferred.

• Extensive building maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license.
• EPA refrigerant certification or licensed trades (electrician/plumber/carpentry).

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and ventilation systems.
• Designs and installs repairs or upgrades to systems as needed.
• Tests and balances controls for HVAC systems.
• Maintains building structures and equipment; manages maintenance logs.
• Orders materials and maintains equipment inventory.
• Performs routine safety checks and ensures compliance with safety rules.
• Supervises seasonal maintenance staff as needed.
• Reads blueprints and technical drawings for projects.
• Responds to system faults and performs troubleshooting.
• Performs related work as required.
