Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Specialist. This position maintains the interior of facilities. Work is performed under the direction of Facilities Tech Coordinator.

Primary Functions

• Assisting in cleaning the chemical storage, mechanical, or shop areas.
• Ensuring lights are working properly.
• Moving boxes, furniture, equipment, and supplies and hanging pictures.
• Remodeling county buildings.
• Performing minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Performing monthly fire safety inspections of elevators.
• Maintaining daily records of work performed.
• Assisting personnel with parts and tools.
• Installing wire, cables, plumbing and electrical outlets and communicating with other departments.
• Performing daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance checklists.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
• If assigned to the jail facility, Maintenance Specialists will also be expected to assist technicians with touchscreen controls, cameras, intercoms and security controls, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• No experience is required.
• Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school.
