Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a Building Inspection Supervisor to coordinate and oversee a team of building inspectors. The role ensures effective delivery of inspection services in line with County regulations and policies.

The position requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience, plus several years in inspection work with supervisory responsibilities. Travel to various site locations and compliance with drug testing policies may be required.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s degree in Industrial Arts, Business, Construction, or related field.
• Four (4) years of work related experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Building Inspectors and analyze workflow to ensure effective service delivery.
• Receive and investigate complaints regarding codes and zoning ordinances; diagnose problems and resolve disputes.
• Conduct on-site inspections, train staff, and perform final inspections to ensure standards.
• Review staff paperwork for completeness and maintain reports of inspection activities.
• Evaluate staff performance and identify training needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
