Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering is seeking a Building Inspector to act as a field representative ensuring construction activities comply with approved plans, codes, and local ordinances. You will inspect residential, commercial, and industrial projects and document findings for safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate has a strong construction background, deep knowledge of building codes, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold one or more active ICC or ACI certifications based on inspection specialty.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct continuous and periodic field inspections of structural elements (concrete, rebar, post-tensioned concrete, steel) and soils.
• Perform field testing of construction materials (e.g., concrete slump, air content, cylinder testing).
• Read and interpret complex structural blueprints, shop drawings, WPS, and geotechnical reports.
• Document deviations or non-conformances and report to contractor, engineer, and project manager.
• Write daily field reports and prepare final sign-off documentation for building officials.
