Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years with Bachelor’s in related field; 3+ years with Master’s; or 9 years with HS diploma.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC and Building Automation System (BAS).
• Experience with installation of HVAC equipment, chillers, pumps, and controls.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for equipment reliability and safety.
• DoD Secret Clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Manage day-to-day operations and technical readiness of program and facility equipment
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, and central utility plant systems
• Interface directly with customers to achieve high customer satisfaction
• Mentor Navy mechanical and electrical technicians on building systems
• Operate MEP infrastructure, centralized utility plant, computer room air handlers, uninterruptible power supplies, building HVAC, generators, fire prevention, and Building Management Systems in compliance with applicable codes and regulations
• Operate, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems supporting buildings and a 24x7 critical data center
• Participate in an on-call rotation for weekends and nights and respond quickly to critical system emergencies
• Assist with strategic maintenance planning and capital projects
• Coordinate with contractors, project personnel, and the Facilities Manager
• Perform other duties as needed and required

Requirements

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Master’s in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
• Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC and Building Automation System (BAS)
• Experience/working knowledge of add-on, replacement, and retrofit installation of small and large HVAC equipment, including chillers, pumps, and controls
• Knowledge of developing and coordinating preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and safety
• Experience/knowledge with mechanical and electrical infrastructure and design
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills to manage equipment library/data logs and communicate effectively with customers
• Active DoD Secret clearance, with ability to obtain/maintain DoD Top Secret Clearance within a year of employment
• Must be able to obtain/maintain base access credentials
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Ability to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces and extreme temperature variances, and lift/move materials within one-person lift guidelines
• Preferred: experience troubleshooting Johnson Controls Inc. Metasys, Schneider Electric I/A Series Controls (BACnet), or Tridium Niagara Framework
• Preferred: expert knowledge of ASHRAE, OSHA, NFPA, and NEC standards
