Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Non-Licensed Building Engineer to operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems across assigned properties, ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient environment.

You will perform rounds, routine preventive maintenance, repairs, energy management tasks, and life-safety checks, while coordinating with property management. This role requires strong technical aptitude and timely response to equipment issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; apprenticeship/trade school preferred.
• 5+ years of related work experience in operating MEP systems in commercial properties.
• Appropriate licenses/permits may be required (Journeyman/Master Electrician, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical, or HVAC work for the building(s).
• Maintain heating equipment, chillers, pumps, and air distribution systems.
• Inspect and repair building systems; monitor energy management.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure safety compliance.
