Job summary

SOCOTEC is a provider of niche consulting services within the architecture, engineering and construction industries focusing on high-performance buildings and specialty structures. This role reports to a Principal within our Building Envelope division and includes field reviews, inspections from exterior elevations, and developing well-documented reports.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in envelope design/inspection, a Bachelor’s in Engineering, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Experience with building envelope design, inspection, or engineering in related projects.
Ability to read architectural drawings and construction documents with accuracy.
Knowledge of applicable local building codes and standards.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

Conduct field reviews and inspections on designated projects.
Document and maintain well written project reports and records.
Advise Project Manager on status, scheduling and estimates for completion.
Communicate with clients and project teams; respond to urgent site requests.
Provide cross-functional support to ensure timelines and activities are completed.
Assist junior technicians and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
