Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking a Senior Principal to lead its Building Envelope practice in the New York market. The role combines advanced technical authority with strategic business leadership, overseeing high-profile projects, mentoring staff, and expanding client relationships.

The Senior Principal will guide multidisciplinary teams on design, forensic investigations, rehabilitation, and commissioning while ensuring technical excellence and profitable performance for SOCOTEC across regional and national

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Science, or related discipline.
15+ years of progressive experience in building envelope consulting or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) or equivalent licensure.
Strong knowledge of building codes, ASTM, AAMA, NFRC, and related standards.
Ability to travel regionally and nationally as required.

Responsibilities

Lead complex building envelope projects including façades, roofing, waterproofing, fenestration, and rehabilitation.
Provide expert technical oversight for quality assurance, commissioning, and remediation strategies.
Mentor and develop multidisciplinary technical staff; drive strategy, client relationships, and practice growth.
Develop executive-level client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
Represent SOCOTEC in industry organizations and thought leadership initiatives.
