Job summary

Stantec is seeking a senior Building Envelope professional to lead design and field assessments for building envelope systems across ambitious projects in California. You will review designs, supervise envelope documentation, and coordinate with architects, contractors and clients.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, travel, and a valid driver's license. A hybrid home/office work environment is offered with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in assessing, detailing, testing and or constructing building envelope systems.
• Highschool Diploma is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean record (MVR).
• Position requires travel.
• Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Review design documents, shop drawings, and trade submittals for conformance with building envelope best practices.
• Undertake field reviews for new construction and rehabilitation projects to confirm envelope work aligns with mock-ups and design documents.
• Prepare site visit reports and generate action lists for deficiencies and tracking resolutions.
• Perform field testing of building envelope components and report results.
• Interface with architects, general contractors and sub-trades.
• Direct building envelope design and construction document development.
• Perform forensic analysis of envelope failures.
• Present findings to stakeholders including legal, contractors and consultants.
• Direct field work assessing existing buildings and preparing envelope assessment reports.
