Job summary

The Standard is seeking a Building Engineer II to help maintain safe, comfortable and reliable commercial properties. You will perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections across building systems, troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and BAS/BMS, while coordinating with vendors and tenant services to ensure efficient operations.

The role requires after-hours availability and an on-call rotation approx.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 4+ years of experience as a Building Engineer or in a related commercial facilities maintenance role.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
• Experience using CMMS and/or building management software.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of environments, including confined spaces, elevated platforms, ladders, and stairways.
• Ability to travel regularly between Tanasbourne and Portland-area properties.
• Ability to work after hours, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation approximately every five weeks is required.
• Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid, EPA Refrigerant Certification, Building Operator Certification (BOC I or II), or Limited Building Maintenance Electrician (LBME/LME) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems.
• Respond to tenant service requests and resolve building maintenance issues in a timely manner.
• Monitor and operate building systems, including HVAC and lighting controls.
• Support facilities projects by coordinating with vendors, obtaining proposals, and overseeing assigned work.
• Conduct building inspections and assist with vendor and regulatory walk-throughs.
