Job summary

Prince George’s County Government seeks a Stationary Engineer I/II to maintain heating, cooling, and ventilation across county facilities, including a correctional site. Work is performed under supervision in a facilities operation division.

Required: 3rd Class Stationary Engineer license, Class C driver’s license, and a high school diploma or GED, plus six months of HVAC maintenance experience; essential duties include safety compliance and emergency readiness.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Six (6) months of maintenance, repair, installation of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
Must possess and maintain a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer’s License as established by the Maryland Board of Licensing and Regulation.
Must possess and maintain a valid Class C driver’s license with no more than six (6) points.

Responsibilities

Plans, schedules, and leads subordinates in maintenance of mechanical and non-mechanical systems.
Operate building environmental systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, and related items.
Review and complete documentation related to daily performance.
Assist shop and contract personnel with work at assigned buildings.
Observe safety regulations and MOSH/OSHA standards at all times.
