Job summary

CCS Facility Services seeks a Building Engineer I to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on building systems to ensure safe, efficient operation at the assigned property.

The role supports the Chief/Assistant Chief Engineer and property management, taking ownership on team projects with supervision when required. A strong background in electrical, HVAC, life safety and facility operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Safe use of ladders, lifts, basic hand tools, multimeters, amp probes, anemometers, pressure gauges, drain augers, plungers, safety goggles, ear protection and fire extinguishers.
• Knowledge of operation of heavy equipment such as chillers, generators, switchgears, pumps, air handling units.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to work with customers, co-workers and outside vendors.
• Time management and personal organization; works with urgency and meets deadlines.
• Proficient with email, mobile devices, memos and spreadsheets.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents; problem solving; basic math.
• Ability to apply measurement concepts to practical situations.

Responsibilities

• Comply with codes, regulations and safety directives related to building operations.
• Operate and assist with electrical and BAS related tasks.
• Support HVAC systems and building mechanical equipment maintenance.
• Maintain life safety systems and recordkeeping.
• Oversee repairs to doors and security hardware.
• Monitor contractors and inspect their work.
• Process tenant requests and update records for sites.
• Be available for varied shifts, nights, weekends and holidays; respond to after-hours emergencies.
• Assist with OSHA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
