Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time Building Engineer in the Pompano Beach, FL area.

This hands-on technician role focuses on preventive and reactive maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems to keep facilities safe and operations continuous. You will perform inspections, coordinate with subcontractors, manage tenant service requests in the CMMS, and support client sites with professional conduct, troubleshooting, and rapid response to emergencies,

Qualifications

• Maintains HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems per safety regulations.
• Maintains building management (BMS) operations and controls.
• Documents tenant service requests in CMMS system.
• Coordinates with clients and subcontractors for maintenance projects.
• Must communicate effectively in English and provide reliable customer service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive and reactive maintenance for all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment.
• Manage HVAC maintenance including controls, air-cooled chillers, VAV, VFD, and related equipment.
• Oversee building management (BMS) operations and adjust schedules during shutdowns.
• Handle tenant service requests with thorough CMMS documentation.
• Act as technical lead for client interactions and coordinate meetings.
• Administer life safety inspections, repairs, and documentation.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours situations.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and report findings to management.
• Perform general repairs and maintenance for fixtures, doors, ceilings, hand railings, and plumbing systems.
