Job summary

The Building Engineer at The RMR Group LLC in San Diego supports the engineering team by operating, maintaining, and logging HVAC and building systems. You will work closely with property managers to address tenant requests and uphold service quality while protecting property value.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and coordinating elevator/fire-safety tasks to ensure compliance and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years building maintenance or equivalent trade experience.
• HVAC, electrical or plumbing expertise preferred.
• Experience with automated building systems and safety codes.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and log HVAC and MEP equipment.
• Address tenant service requests with prompt, courteous service.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems.
• Maintain logs of preventive work and inventory as needed.
• Coordinate safety drills, elevator maintenance and fire alarm testing.
• Communicate with property management, engineers, and vendors.
