Job summary

Hines is seeking a Building Engineer to maintain and optimize HVAC, electrical, plumbing and related systems on-site at our properties. You will review operating conditions with supervision, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to tenant requests while upholding safety and company policies.

The role requires basic engineering knowledge, use of testing equipment, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including some holidays. On-site work at the assigned property is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years commercial HVAC or related experience.
• Completion of the Hines “Introduction to Engineering” training program.
• Read and understand equipment manuals and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs or more.
• Shift work including early mornings, evenings, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems including pumps, chillers, boilers and air handling units.
• Adjust HVAC and related equipment to meet operating criteria.
• Repair and maintain building components and fixtures.
• Participate in water treatment chemical programs.
• Maintain operation logs and safety records.
• Respond promptly to tenant requests and maintain professional conduct.
