Job summary

Michigan State University is seeking a Building Systems Efficiency Supervisor to lead the Building Performance Services team in advancing campus energy efficiency across new and existing facilities.

The role focuses on estimating, planning, and directing energy systems projects, with the ability to collaborate with academic units, student groups, consultants, and utility partners to maximize MSU resources and achieve energy goals.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in mechanical, electrical, HVAC/energy, or applied engineering.
• Eight+ years of related experience in operations, energy analysis, and facilities management.
• Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex multi-craft projects in Planon and Power BI, including estimating, design, procurement and scheduling.
• Provide control system estimating, design (including detailed AutoCAD drawings), SME technical assistance, and oversee contracted labor.
• Oversee day-to-day operations in a working supervisor capacity for the Building Systems Efficiency Team and oversee ECM activities.
• Lead energy-related initiatives with internal and external partners to meet campus energy efficiency goals.
• Review project payments, approve payments, and coordinate required inspections.
