Job summary

Michigan State University seeks a Building Systems Efficiency Supervisor to lead the Building Performance Services team focused on energy efficiency across campus facilities. The role emphasizes estimating, planning, and directing complex mechanical, electrical, and control systems projects while coordinating with internal and external partners to optimize energy use and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in mechanical, electrical, HVAC/energy or applied engineering, energy modeling/analysis, mathematics, and/or statistics.
• Eight+ years of related and progressively responsible experience in operations and maintenance of high-performance buildings and energy analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Building Performance Services team focused on energy efficiency and ECM prioritization.
• Estimate, plan, design and manage large-scale campus projects with cost estimates and design specs.
• Coordinate with academic units, students, consultants and utility teams to maximize MSU resources.
• Lead ECM list development, internal/external stakeholder liaison and project payments approvals.
• Manage complex multi-craft projects in Planon and Power BI, including procurement, scheduling and closeout.
