Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) invites applications for a Building Enclosure Intern in Nashville, TN. This on-site internship provides exposure to enclosure consulting, design review, and field investigations at a leading engineering design and consulting firm.

You will assist with evaluating building envelope systems, perform site visits, review drawings, and support testing and reporting under supervision. Pursuing a related degree and ready for field work are preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
• Completion of sophomore year or higher by the start of the internship.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeam is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in enclosure consulting and field investigations.
• Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and document field conditions.
• Review architectural drawings and specifications for compliance and performance.
• Participate in enclosure testing procedures and data collection.
• Support the preparation of technical reports, inspection checklists, and field documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and SSR design teams to resolve enclosure challenges.
• Attend team meetings and capture notes, actions, and due dates.
