Smith Seckman Reid, Inc is seeking a Building Enclosure Intern to support enclosure consulting, design review, and field investigation. Join a multidisciplinary team bridging architecture, structural engineering, and materials science.

You will gain hands-on experience in building envelope evaluation, site visits, and reporting, under mentorship from experienced enclosure professionals across Smith Seckman Reid, Inc's projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
• Preferred: Sophomore year completed or higher by internship start.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to perform field work in various environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeam is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Assist in evaluating building envelope systems for new construction and existing buildings.
• Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and document field conditions.
• Review drawings and specs for compliance with best practices.
• Participate in enclosure testing procedures and field documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and SSR design teams to resolve enclosure challenges.
• Support preparation of technical reports and inspection checklists.
• Attend team meetings and track actions and due dates.
• Seek knowledge sharing with the team through coursework insights.
