Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is seeking a Building Enclosure Engineer-in-Training I to join our Building Enclosure Services team in Tampa.

You will assist in evaluating, designing, testing, and reviewing enclosure systems such as roofing, exterior walls, windows, waterproofing, and air/vapor barriers. Working with experienced engineers, you will help ensure building performance, durability, and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• MS or BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Eng, Building Science, or Bachelor of Architecture.
• Ability to learn the basics of design and analysis within the discipline.
• Familiarity with industry standards and building enclosure concepts (ASTM/AAMA/ASHRAE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply architectural/engineering principles across roofing, walls, glazing, waterproofing, and air/vapor control systems.
• Review submittals and shop drawings for conformance with documents.
• Perform field visits and monitor system performance and testing.
• Assist in developing repair designs and details under supervision.
• Demonstrate initiative in learning enclosure-related software and tools.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure durable, energy-efficient enclosures.
