Job summary

Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is seeking a Building Inspector to enforce statewide building codes and related standards through on-site inspections. You will communicate requirements to the public, contractors, and local officials, and investigate non-compliance cases with thorough reporting.

Candidates must obtain Commercial Structural, Commercial Mechanical, and Residential Inspector certifications within 60 days of hire, with telework eligibility after

• Commitment to accuracy and clarity when enforcing codes.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the Statewide Building Code and adopted specialty codes through inspection of all types of buildings.

• Investigate cases of non-compliance and report appropriately.
