Job summary

Uihlein Electric in Milwaukee is seeking a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician to install, wire, start up, diagnose, and troubleshoot building automation and control systems for commercial and industrial customers. Responsibilities include BAS installations, electrical control work, wiring, and ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and as-built drawings.

Qualifications

Prior experience in building automation controls technician work.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
Familiarity with BACnet, MS/TP, BACnet/IP, or other BAS communication protocols.
Ability to interpret HVAC sequences of operation and trace system cause-and-effect.
Ability to read electrical drawings and control schematics.
Good understanding of electrical controls, relays, motor starters, and variable-frequency drives.

Responsibilities

Perform BAS installations for commercial and industrial customers.
Electrical control work, wiring and cabling, troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Verify field installations against drawings, specifications, and project standards.
Maintain accurate device labeling, redline drawings, checkout documentation, and project records.
Adapt to changing project requirements, schedules, and field conditions.
