Job summary

Uihlein Electric in Brookfield, WI is seeking a Building Automation Systems Technician to install, wire, startup, diagnose, and troubleshoot BAS for commercial and industrial customers. You will collaborate with electricians, project managers, HVAC contractors, and commissioning agents to deliver safe, documented control systems.

The ideal candidate has experience with electrical controls, BACnet or BAS protocols, reads drawings, and maintains clean records.

Qualifications

• Prior BAS technician experience required.
• Knowledge of electrical controls, relays, motor starters and VFDs.
• Familiarity with BAS protocols such as BACnet, MS/TP, BACnet/IP.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and control schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform BAS installations for commercial and industrial customers.
• Install, wire, startup support, diagnose, and troubleshoot BAS systems.
• Develop working knowledge of HVAC systems including VAV, pumps, boilers, chillers, and related equipment.
• Verify field installations against drawings, specs, manufacturer requirements, and project standards.
• Maintain accurate device labeling, redline drawings, checkout documentation, and project records.
• Adapt to changing project requirements, schedules, and field conditions.
