Job summary

Convergentz, a division of Hunton Group in Houston, TX, seeks a Building Automation System (BAS) Controls SME. This technical sales role interfaces with engineers, architects, contractors and owners to design, apply, and sell BAS solutions for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.

The candidate will develop relationships with project teams, respond to customer needs with technical insight, and manage quotes, pricing and bids.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required. Four-year college or university.
• 3+ years in a Sales role, HVAC/industry experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Willingness to travel locally and possess a valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of fire alarm, electronics, and BAS software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and sells integrated Building Automation Systems.
• Collects, organizes, and assembles data for reports and presentations.
• Responds to customer needs by identifying systems, generating quotes and closing orders.
• Develops relationships with key players in the customer's organization.

Selected candidate will be a technical sales consultant to engineers, architects, contractors and owners/developers in the design, application, and sales of Building Automation System solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.

Responsibilities

• Designs and sells integrated Building Automation Systems.
• Collects, organizes, and assembles data for reports, presentations and/or special projects.
• Responds to customer needs by identifying systems, products, generating quotes and closing orders.
• Communicates order changes to customers.
• Develops multiple relationships with key players in the customer's organization, including project managers, project engineers, construction, financial, and purchasing personnel.
• Assists customers in answering technical questions on HVAC systems, Trane products, and system application alternative, BAS, installation, operation, maintenance, and problem resolution.
• Conducts price estimates and quotations for projects.
• Conducts customer visits and customer events to build relationships with key accounts.
• Monitors and tracks quoted projects and current orders.
• Manages plan and specification takeoffs, selection, pricing, and bidding.
• Conducts formal presentations and training sessions with customer groups.
• Observes the Trane Company's conditions and business conduct policies when securing business in the marketplace.
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
• Frequent travel requirements with some overnight travel.

Education and/or Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University.
• 3+ years of experience in a Sales position, preferably HVAC/industry related.
