Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing in Texas seeks an experienced Application Engineer to design and develop building automation and HVAC control solutions for commercial construction projects.

You will program DDC controllers, develop submittals, and create network architectures while collaborating with design teams through commissioning. The role requires strong communication and reading electrical drawings, with a plus for BACnet/Niagara platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in building automation, HVAC controls, or related field.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specs.
• Experience with BACnet, Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Distech, or similar platforms preferred.
• Engineering degree or related technical education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design building automation and HVAC controls systems from project plans and specs.
• Develop controls submittals, bills of material, programming requirements, and system layouts.
• Program DDC controllers and building automation systems for new construction and retrofit projects.
• Create building automation network architectures using industry-standard communication protocols.
• Review project documentation and participate in project turnover meetings.
• Generate startup and commissioning documentation for field teams.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and customers.
• Perform occasional job site visits to support project execution and commissioning.
