Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing seeks a Building Automation Service Technician in the Columbus, OH area to service BAS/DDC systems across commercial and industrial facilities. This field-based role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, commissioning, and preventive maintenance.

You will work with BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based networks, read blueprints, and collaborate with customers and contractors to maintain system reliability and up-to-date configurations.

Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC systems, controls, or BAS/DDC environments.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Hands-on field experience in building automation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform startup, commissioning, and testing of BAS/DDC systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC controls and automation systems.
• Implement preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
• Configure systems and perform point‑to‑point checkout.
• Maintain service documentation and safe work practices.
• Respond to service calls, including after-hours when needed.
• Collaborate with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
