Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a skilled engineer to assist senior engineers in designing building automation systems, including mechanical layouts, electrical drawings, and panel layouts. You will help create and verify point databases, run programming tasks, and support customer training to ensure successful system operation.

The role requires a vocational HVAC/building automation degree, with preferred 1–3 years of hands-on experience in DDC systems.

Qualifications

• Requires vocational degree in HVAC/building automation controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/construction management or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience with digital HVAC controls (DDC) preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC mechanical/electrical systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing building automation systems per project plans and specs.
• Perform low to medium complexity software design, programming, trials, and tests.
• Support training for customers and document problem evaluation/resolution.
• Review plans/specs/contracts to determine system requirements and select appropriate products.
