Torrey Holistics in Nashville, TN is seeking a Building Automation Controls Software Engineer (HVAC) to design and commission HVAC control programs for large commercial facilities. You’ll work on DDC/BAS projects, writing sequences of operation and graphics to align with design intent.

Qualifications

• 3+ years programming HVAC/BAS controls.
• Solid grasp of mechanical systems, control sequences, and electrical basics.
• Hands-on experience with major BAS platforms: Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Distech.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and control schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license; company vehicle provided.

Responsibilities

• Author, configure, and commission HVAC control programs across DDC, BAS, and PLC platforms for large facilities.
• Develop sequences of operation, control logic, and graphics aligned with design intent.
• Optimize system performance, diagnose issues, and verify against specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field technicians to meet schedules.
• Support start-up, functional testing, and thorough documentation.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients and internal teams.

Building Automation Controls Software Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Nashville, TN 37204

Work Location: In person

Compensation: $35.00-$45.00 per hour (DOE)

A day in this role

Picture your morning reviewing a new commercial project's sequences, then jumping into Tridium Niagara to craft robust logic blocks. By midday, you're on-site with a project manager and a technician, commissioning a DDC system and validating graphics against the design. In the afternoon, you remote into a recently completed facility to fine-tune setpoints, troubleshoot a PLC routine, and document updates so field teams and clients stay aligned. You wrap the day confident the building runs smarter and more efficiently than it did yesterday.

What you'll tackle
